Blogging Seminar

Last Saturday, Feb 2, 2008 we had a blogging seminar held at Fwendz Dinner owned by Mr. Kris Cubos and the speaker was  “blogie” one of the authors of Mindanaobloggers.com. 

Most of the people who went were the IT3 students of Ateneo(AdDU), some students from the University of Immaculate Concepcion(UIC), and others who are already professionals. The talk was about how to earn money and monetize your blog. There are sites that offer this kind of revenue for bloggers. They pay you for making a review about a certain topic or a website. But the main focus was the content and quality of information in your blog. 

A blog should be of a certain topic like food, or about davao (angdabawenyo.com), hotels, restaurants and many more. But if it is a personal blog it can be of different and many topics. If you like a good web hosting site, apply to a self hosted wordpress website. It offers many features and plug-ins as well as templates and many more. 

Some sites pay you to advertise their links like text-link-ads. If you are familiar with google adsense it works like that but you don’t need to  do any clicking’s because they pay you for putting it in your site/blog. Especially on blogs/sites with high traffic and with pagerank (PR). These sites are index in google and are maybe in the top list if you search it in google for a certain topic.
